It often means the developing chick has expired and bacteria is quickly making its way through the contents of the egg. Toss these eggs when you see them. Toss them in the trash, not at your friends. *wink*

2/19/2019 0 Comments Candling EggsCandling eggs is easy if you have a bright enough light source! I finally found a strong enough light to see into the mystery of a hatching egg. This is my latest hatch batch. There is strong veining and the forming chicks are showing. This is week one in incubation. Seeing the veining is a sign your eggs are viable and well on their way to life outsude the shell.

Today marks the beginning of its virtual pages. Our farm began years ago with three hens in Florida. It has since added many nice varieties.
